About Averill
Averill Chase has published widely and worked closely with authors on developing books in the following subject categories: Australiana (including popular history, military history, aboriginal studies, current affairs, politics); travel (travel narrative, guide books, illustrated souvenir and coffee table books); true crime; biography (including memoir and autobiography); sport; natural history; humour (including joke and cartoon books); lifestyle (food, wine, cookbooks, gardening); health and personal development (including family health, parenting, personal relationships and self-improvement); and general (including quiz and trivia books, baby and other naming books, dictionaries).
Averill is a member of the Australian Association of Food Professionals (formerly the Food Media Club of Australia) and the Wine Communicators of Australia (formerly the Wine Press Club of NSW) and has previously served on the Executive Committees of both organisations. She has had a long association with the Australian Food Media Awards acting as a judge for their 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010 awards. In addition Averill was a judge for the 2006 Australian Society of Travel Writers Annual Awards and the 2007 World Food Media Awards.
